artist statement

Ellie is a photographer whose work explores themes of family and identity. Working from human stories, both personal and told by others. Specialising in underwater photography, she is currently working on a project that uses the sea as an agent to capture the emotions and sensations of living around cancer. Focusing on women and female cancers she uses photography to articulate the impact it has. Visually, her images have an intimacy to them, the use of abstraction bringing a tactile quality.
